News from South Korea suggests Samsung are readying an 8.9-inch tablet device for release by the summer of this year….
Yonhap News Agency is reporting that the tablet device will almost certainly run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb and will go on sale worldwide via network providers. A Samsung spokesperson is alleged to have revealed the news and although further details remain a secret, several Korean media outlets are suggesting they could come as early as next month.
If true, it will seem that Samsung are taking the same approach as HTC by providing customers with a wide range of differently-sized slate devices – the new 8.9-inch tablet will take its position between the 7-inch Galaxy Tab and the forthcoming Galaxy Tab 10.1 (above) – with only small adjustments to specs and design to suit.
Expect to hear more from Samsung in a few weeks….
