If the gossip is to be believed, Apple will be hold a media event in the US on September 9th and top of the itinerary will be the introduction of their new breed of iPods. Both the nano and the iTouch are expected to have cameras integrated and the event will also see the newly re-vamped iTunes given an airing. It is likely that Version 9 will come  complete with brand new Blu-Ray support and access to a wide range of social networking sites. Interesting stuff. In more Apple news, or rather, rumours, the Cupertino company have been looking at ways to overhaul the aluminium-cased Macbook. Under new pressure applied by the steady rise of the netbook and combined with a flailing economy, the expensive Apple Pro has been struggling for sales. This could see a return to the spotlight of the once written-off Apple Macbook, with plans to re-design the whole thing from inside out – re-visiting the classic plastic black or white chassis, adding features and slimming the whole thing down making it more lightweight and portable. Although these will be pitched against netbooks, it’s highly unlikely that the price will be budget-level – that’s just not the way Apple do things.

The worst kept secret in the world involves Apples plans for a tablet-form touch-screen computer. Well, fresh from his recovery from a liver transplant, Steve Jobs is back in action and is said to be personally overseeing the development of the much mooted Apple Tablet. Under particular scrutiny is the advertising and marketing strategy, which suggests to shopexplorer that the supposed 2010 release could well be brought forward…………
