The Vaio Mini W-Series is Sony’s first official entry into the netbook market. Initially priced at around £350-400, the VPCW11S1E was certainly in the higher ranges of expense for a mini-notebook, however: the price has become much cheaper of late and if you’re looking for a netbook you can pick one up from the more reasonable price of £280.
Watch out for some heavy marketing by the British Video Association about Blu-Ray discs, starting next week. The advertising campaign is being run on behalf of most of the major big players in the film industry – Sony, 20th Century Fox, Universal, Disney and Warner – to bring attention to the burgeoning HD format and encourage the 11 million households to get on board and buy more Blu-Ray content.
